Corrections

Welcome

School of Government faculty members have developed educational programs and publications to assist local government officials responsible for corrections, including the operation of jails. Resources are primarily for local sheriffs and employees of the sheriff's department, as well as other county and judicial officials involved in corrections law, including the law of sentencing, probation, and parole. The School is home to the Jail Health Law Project, funded by the NC Association of County Commissioners. This project offers assistance to local government officials on legal issues related to provision of health care in local jails. For more information, visit the Health and Human Services page.
