In 2006 the NC General Assembly allocated funding for the creation of a judicial college at the School of Government. When fully implemented, the judicial college will offer several single-topic courses for judicial officials on topics that include managing civil trials, trying capital cases, and managing courts. These small seminars will supplement the School’s existing programs for newly elected or appointed court officials or the programs that provide legal updates for those officials. The judicial college will also offer online and digital learning tools that will be accessible at any time.
